Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine love to prank their fellow ‘The Voice’ coaches.

The ‘Your Body’ singer recently announced she will take a break from the show next season in order to focus on her new album and Christina admitted leaving will be ”bittersweet” because she has so much fun with her fellow mentors.

She told E! News: ”It’s bittersweet. I so enjoy being a coach to my team on ‘The Voice’ [and] and at this point in season three, all of us coaches have truly bonded.

”When me and Adam are on breaks backstage, you know, we’re writing profanity with my red lipstick all over Blake [Shelton]‘s trailer while he’s napping inside. It’s like we have definitely become like brother and sister. We goof around and play around. I’m going to miss it.”

While Christina has already spoken to producer Mark Burnett about returning after a break of one season, she thinks taking time out for her career will make her a better coach.

She explained: ‘‘In order to be the best coach I can be on that show is to go out and be able to have the experience as an artist…create new experiences for myself so that I can then come back to the show and share that much more.

”Mark understands that we’re artists first. In order to remain great coaches and to stay relevant, we have to go out and we have to still tour, see our fans one-on-one. I have to feel creatively fulfilled in order for me to then do my job as a coach and be on that show.”

How Much Will Shakira Make for The Voice?

What kind of paycheck will Shakira pull in when she replaces Christina Aguilera on The Voice next season? According to THR, it's a sizable one: Shakira will earn $12 million, trailing Britney Spears's $15 million X Factor fee and Mariah Carey's $18 million paycheck for American Idol, but on par or higher than what newbie Nicki Minaj is getting for Idol, and definitely more than what Usher will get ($7 million) when he joins Skakira in replacing Cee Lo Green on The Voice.

Cee Lo Green talks to THR + Sesame Street's The Voice Parody Sneak Peek

On Sept. 10, Cee Lo Green will be returning for his third season as one of the four coaches on NBC’s The Voice. The funky singer with the eccentric style and infamous white cat tells The Hollywood Reporter that contestants “have their game faces on” this season, as the show introduces some new changes to their format. In the battle round, the four coaches – Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton – will have the opportunity to steal a contestant from another team if he or she loses the battle round.

Additionally, a new round, called the “knockout” will take place before the live shows to cut all the teams down from 10 contestants to five.

Green spoke to THR about the upcoming season, the new twists and what he thought of his Sesame Street character.

The Hollywood Reporter: Adam Levine said that he was apprehensive before signing on to join the show before season one. Were you the same way?

Cee Lo Green: We were friends prior and we talked. He was like, "Yo, are you going to do this? Because if you’re not going to do it, I’m not going to do it." And then Blake called us and was like, "Hey, my name’s Blake Shelton," and we were like, "Who are you?" [Laughs.]

THR: What did you think about the steal idea when you first heard about it?

Green: I thought it was going to become even more awkward and uncomfortable for the artists – and for us. Because it’s pretty difficult to have to encourage someone, and then take it away from them in a matter of days. It seems so unfair. But you know what? The steals actually became a silverlining and sustained something very special about the show in general – that optimism that if offers. That second and third opportunity for some, which is great. People get five or six chances on the show.

THR: Why do you think the chemistry between the four coaches is better than ever this year?

Green: I think it’s just lived in. We do realize that it’s a legacy that we’re leaving and it’s history that we’re making. It’s a labor of love and we love it. We’re not obligated to be here.

THR: Have you seen the Sesame Street clip parodying The Voice?

Green: I have.

THR: What did you think of your character? You’re blue.

Green: I’m blue. And thought quite naturally I would be red. I dropped the cat in it. I don’t want the animal right society to get after me.

THR: Did you notice Adam Levine isn’t in it?

Green: I don’t know what that was about, because that was the same question I had. I guess they couldn’t fine a puppet pretty enough. [Laughs.]

The Voice Premiere Sneak Peek Videos

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

Via Glooce

The ratings war with X Factor begins tonight.

If one is good, two must be better, right? That must be the thinking of the team behind "The Voice," which is preparing for its first fall season tonight.

As usual, coaches Christina Aguilera, 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Best Pop Video nominee Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton will be facing off against another reality singing competition. Only this time instead of staring down the fading-but-still-formidable "American Idol" they'll be duking it out with the second season of ex-"Idol" baddie Simon Cowell's "X Factor."

But don't think they're coming back with the same old bag of tricks. Producers have thrown a bunch of curveballs
into the mix this time around, including a new wrinkle that will allow coaches to steal players from their fellow stars' teams.

Christina Milian has a sneak peek of tonight's episode.

Carson Daly gives his pre-season predictions for The Voice.

As usual, each coach will again start with 16 players chosen during the blind audition rounds, with the battle rounds cutting their ranks in half. But this time their rivals will have a chance to add two new faces to their team from the other coaches' cut list.

They're not making it easy on Christina, Adam, Cee Lo and Blake, though. Because then they'll have to trim their teams down to five during knock-out rounds in which each singer will pick a song and perform it while the next man or woman up sits on a stool in a boxing ring awaiting their turn.

Once those rounds are over, the live shows will start airing at the end of October. With Britney Spears and VMA pre-show
performer Demi Lovato making their debuts on "Factor" — which will air on a Wednesday-Thursday night schedule while "Voice" takes the Monday-Tuesday slots — viewers are in for some serious star power on both shows.

In addition to the contemporary hitmakers in the signature red chairs, Mary J. Blige, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Michael Buble and Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas will be mentoring "Voice" contestants as well.

Compared to the drooping-but-still-leading ratings
from "Idol," which gave up its mantle as the #1 show on TV this year, "Factor" and "The Voice" have room to improve. Cowell's "Factor" managed an average of 12.59 million viewers in its debut last fall, while "Voice" averaged 11.93 million in the spring.

But hints from "Voice" producer Mark Burnett that this may be the final ride for the original judging foursome may kick up the ratings rivalry even more than the action on the stage. And while Aguilera and Levine have had their fair share of sniping on the show, one thing we haven't seen yet is claws coming out between former chart competitors and "Mickey Mouse Club" alums Spears and Xtina.

"I came up with Britney ... we were very close," Aguilera told reporters
earlier this month. "Our paths have always crossed. They're going to continue to cross. I welcome her to this family of fun and entertainment and finding new talent. Britney's a pro."

With modest sales so far from season one winner Javier Colon and runner-up Dia Frampton and the jury still out on this spring's winner, Jermaine Paul, in addition to standing up to the "Factor," if "The Voice" aims to climb to the top of the reality singing heap it is going to need to find the one this year.
